The MacDuffie School Graduate Mabel Baez Conducts Undergraduate Research at Colgate University

The MacDuffie School graduate Mabel Baez, of Springfield, MA, and a member of the Colgate Class of 2015, is one of about 150 Colgate University students conducting serious research on and off campus this summer as a paid research fellow.

Baez is conducting research in the Effects of Nutrient Addition on Ecosystem Processes and Community Structure of Bromeliads in the Canopy of La Selva Biological Station, Costa Rica, with the guidance of Biology; Environmental Studies Professor Catherine Cardelus.

Summer fellowships at Colgate allow students to work closely with faculty for eight to ten weeks on projects of common interest, and across disciplines, from biology and neuroscience to geology and sociology, to name a few.
