Colgate is a highly selective residential liberal arts institution distinguished by academic excellence and interdisciplinary inquiry.

With small classes and a strong emphasis on faculty-student interaction, we help students become thoughtful, critical thinkers and perceptive leaders. Critical to this goal is residence in a community that values all forms of intellectual rigor.

This means fostering diversity of thought and action by offering 54 majors and numerous minors and a Liberal Arts Core Curriculum that has been recognized as one of the most ambitious and elegant general education programs in the country. Additionally, our students contribute to a vibrant campus culture that complements and expands on the knowledge created in our classrooms and labs.
